1. Why have I received a bill from Northwest Pathology when I've never been there?When you have tissue removed or a pap smear performed, your specimen will be sent to our laboratory for evaluation and diagnosis. The charge for this service is separate from your doctor's office visit charge. 2. What are the business office hours at Northwest Pathology?Feel free to call our business office with billing questions from 8am-5pm. You may call local (360) 671-5905 or toll free 1(866) 750-1028. 3. How can I pay my bill?You may pay by check, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. Please mail your payment to PO Box 2837 Bellingham WA 98227, pay over the phone by calling our billing department (360) 671-5905, or pay in person by coming to our lab. We are located at 3614 Meridian Street Bellingham, WA 98225. 4. What is a pathologist?A pathologist is a physician who studies body fluids and tissues to assist your primary care doctor in making diagnoses about medical problems you may have. Pathologists oversee laboratory testing ordered by primary care providers to monitor the health of patients. 5. I have received a bill from Northwest Pathology and I do not see an insurance payment. What can I do?If your doctor's office has provided us with insurance information, we will bill your insurance. If you do not see their payment indicated on your billing statement, please contact our business office with the information. We will be happy to submit a claim on your behalf. 6. Can I set up a payment plan?After your claim is processed by your insurance carrier, you will receive a statement from Northwest Pathology. Your balance will include any deductible amounts as determined by your insurance carrier. If you are unable to pay the balance in full, you can contact our business office to arrange for a payment plan. 7. Do you offer financial assistance?Northwest Pathology offers financial assistance to qualified patients in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations put forth by state and federal health care plans, as well as private third party payer contracts. We have an internal financial assistance program. Please contact our business office for the application, or you may print the application below. What if I don't have health insurance?We recognize that not all patients have health insurance and we automatically discount all private pay cases. We also have a prepay program - Path Prepaid. Please contact our billing department for pricing. 9. How can I obtain a copy of my pathology report?We encourage you to review your results with your doctor. They will receive a copy of your report as soon as the results have been finalized. |
