What is the turn-around time for reports?

Most reports are released within 24 hours of receipt of the specimen. Larger specimens, as well as more complex cases that require additional studies, may take longer. Priority status is given to any cases labeled STAT, and preliminary results may be available sooner by calling NWP at (360) 734-2800 or the pathologist on call.

How do I reach the pathologist on call?

During the day and weekday evenings, the pathologist on call can be reached by calling NWP at 360-734-2800. At night and on weekends, the pathologist on call can be reached through PeaceHealth Laboratories at 360-738-6332.

How can I obtain pathology results?

Reports are either printed or faxed directly to physician offices at the time they are completed. Hard copies can be requested by calling NWP at (360) 734-2800. Copies of the reports are also transmitted into CareCast and other hospital electronic databases.

If you are a patient, the results are best obtained through your physician that took the biopsy, or through medical records at your hospital.
